We’d like to welcome Simon Fleetwood as our new agronomist for Luisetti Seeds in Mid Canterbury.
Simon has been in the agronomy industry for fifteen years. He studied initially as an Ag ITO student. The focus was on practical on-farm work, supported by classroom study with a tutor every two weeks. Simon submitted his projects via correspondence to earn credits, and found that this style of studying suited him. He went on to complete several short courses in plant science at Lincoln University.
For eight seasons, Simon has worked in the Methven-Rakaia area in small seed multiplication, specialising in Ryegrass, Cocksfoot, White Clover, Carrots and Asian Brassica. Simon enjoys working with growers, ensuring they receive timely agronomy. Simon looks forward to being part of the Luisetti Seeds team and working with local growers.
When he is not in the field, Simon enjoys Rugby, Bowls and Squash. He also loves spending time with his family and friends. Simon lives in Methven with his wife Vicki and his son Angus. He and Vicki are expecting another child in March and he can’t wait!
