The Luisetti Seeds Division 1 Championship final took place on Saturday 16th June. Waihora hosted Rakaia at Rhodes Park on a pitch that was in pretty good order considering the quantity of rain the area had recently experienced.
Both teams came into the final with excellent win records. Waihora having won 11 from 12, and Rakaia 10 wins and 1 draw from 12. Waihora made a strong start and took an early lead. Rakaia then staged an excellent come back and, with 10 minutes to go, it was anyone’s game. With a late try, Waihora were the eventual winners 36-24.
Congratulations to both teams on what was a good, clean, hard, country rugby final.
