The Mitre 10 Cup (National Provincial Championship) came out of the cabinet for the Luisetti Seeds Father & Child Rugby Players Breakfast. Not long afterwards, this cup disappeared somewhere up in the North Island!
Recently Luisetti Seeds held a Father & Child breakfast in association with Canterbury Rugby at their Headquarters at Rugby Park.
The boys and girls were presented with Luisetti Seeds Gilbert rugby balls (as used in the Country Division One Competition) and took the opportunity of trying them out on the immaculately manicured turf of Rugby Park.
Canterbury Coach, Joe Maddock, and Canterbury Strength & Conditioning Coach, Gareth Duder, spoke to the children about how the Canterbury team prepare for each match and what an important role video analysis plays in that preparation.
Jo and Gareth showed the boys and girls through the players’ gym, and assessed their burst speed on the artificial turf. Jo watched the young players carefully and talked about the importance of attitude and work rate in a team environment.
At the conclusion of the breakfast, Jo assured them “If you are good enough to play for Canterbury – I will find you!”
