The performance of the new Luisetti Seeds/Plant & Food Research biscuit wheat, Empress, has been a highlight of the 2012 harvest.
Empress (formerly known as CRWT157) offers greatly enhanced disease resistance compared to all other New Zealand biscuit wheats. Many outstanding yields have been achieved with Empress this season. A 9.2ha Mid Canterbury paddock, for example, yielded 140 tonne or 15.2 tonne/ha. The grower was astonished by the yield monitor in his header which averaged 14.7 tonne over the entire crop and reached 19 tonne per hectare in places.
Limited quantities of Empress seed will be available this year. Please place your order now with your Luisetti Seeds or Stapletons representative.
