Available for the first time in 2012, CRWT168 feed wheat is the first New Zealand bred feed wheat for 15 years.
Bred at Lincoln by Andy Hay and his team at Plant & Food Research, CRWT168 has consistently out yielded all European feed wheats during development trials.
CRWT168 is an ‘early finisher’ which makes it especially suitable to medium or drier conditions. CRWT168 has excellent tolerance to seedling and adult stripe rust and mildew. Although slightly taller than most European seed wheats CRWT168 has stiff straw and resists lodging.
CRWT168 will be available from both Luisetti Seeds and Stapletons for early April sowings.
