Do you like the smell of your partner when they return home from a day in the fields? Would you like to smell like this every day if you got the chance? Well you can now recreate this beautiful country scent with a harvest of three limited edition fragrances from Jo Malone, called “English Fields”.
Head of Jo Malone’s fragrance development, Céline Roux wanted to design a collection of fragrances that perfectly captured her summers growing up in France surrounded by fields. When she moved to London, she became enamored with the British countryside and the inspiration for the “English Fields” collection came from her fascination with the textures, colours and scents of grain and harvest traditions in Britain. Roux has sought to capture the smell of freshly turned earth combined with mown pastures enhanced with wild flowers as well as smells of the three grains used for the new collection. Paired with master perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui, both Roux and Bijaoui, working together for the first time, are delighted with their “Distilled Essence of Arable Farming”!
Poppy and Barley is enriched with sensuous red poppies and fruity blackcurrant smells. This is mixed with barley which has a cotton-soft texture and nurturing warmth. Combined with powdery notes of white musk, this fragrance and contrast between scents is very Jo Malone.
Primrose and Rye Primroses are joyful yellow flowers that are mixed with corn, coconut and mimosa to enhance the rich and hazy solar effect. Paired with rye, which has a spicy hint of vanilla and a real earthiness to it, this fragrance is one of smoky warmth.
Oat and Cornflower represents the wholesome, mouthwatering and addictive experience of oats, paired with hazelnut to replicate the nuttiness of the oats, enhanced with warm, sweet tobacco and earthy vetiver. Green Wheat and Meadowsweet captures the start of spring, the moment when a fresh breeze rustles through fields of green wheat. Pulled together with a zesty twist of grapefruit and mingled with soft, white notes of meadowsweet,
this earthy note resonates well with the textures of the grain.
These perfumes are all enriched with grains and cereals that are central to Luisetti Seeds. Capture the summer harvest all year round with a perfume for every day!
